Since dawn of time man has been drawn to the glow and colour of gold. Gold is one of the few metals in nature that does not combine with other elements and thus keeps its glimmer.

In the early Stone Age, around 40,000 BC, prehistoric man gathered lumps of gold and laid them in their caves. The shine of the gold must have looked like condensed dust in sunshine.
