Monomakh cross with pearls pendant in sterling silver

Description:
The original gold cross with pearls sat atop the Oriental Cap of Monomakh, dating back to the 13th or early 14th century. It was primarily used for ceremonies at the Russian court, and was last used in the coronation of Peter the Great in 1682.

Our cross is inspired by the lithographs made by Fyodor Solntsev of the Kremlin Palace Collection. These drawings are housed at the New York Public Library´s Rare Russian Illustrated Book Collection.

The cross measures 2,5 cm and the silver chain 45,5 cm
